Easy Snack Mixes to do with your Kiddos

Hi dearies! The countdown is on and it is now 6 days away from Christmas. YIPES! Do you still need a simple and easy gift to give to a friend, family, or teacher? Here are 2 easy snack mixes that you & your special needs kiddo or any kiddo can do. Just gift them in a nice Christmassy bag or box or jar and WALAH!!!!! a gift that will be enjoyed by your recipient and your kiddo/kiddos got to help with. 
Number 1   Reindeer Chow
  • 1 box Chex Corn Cereal - 14 ounces
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups pretzel pieces
  • 2 cups Christmas M&M's

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pour Chex cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In another bowl combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Melt in the microwave on high heat for 1 minute. Stir and continue heating for another 30 seconds. Remove from microwave.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract then mix well.
  4. Pour chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir to evenly distribute.
  5. In a gallon-sized ziploc bag pour in 2 cups of powdered sugar. Add the chocolate chex mix, seal and shake well
  6. Pour chex mix into a bowl, then add pretzels and m&ms. Mix well and serve.                                  Number 2 - Christmas Snack Mix   
                                                                                                                           
    INGREDIENTS
    • 1 (10 oz) package pretzels
    • 5 cups Cheerios (you can use plain or my favorite is the Multi-Grain Peanut Butter)
    • 5 cups Corn Chex
    • 2 cups peanuts (or mixed nuts)
    • 2 (12 oz) packages plain M & M's
    • 2 (12 oz) packages white chocolate chips
    • 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. In a VERY large bowl (or two medium bowls), combine the first 5 ingredients. Set aside.
    2. In a microwave safe bowl, heat white chips and oil on high for 60 seconds (you could also melt chocolate and oil in a double boiler pan). Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds and stir until completely melted and smooth (you may need to microwave for a couple more seconds). Pour melted chocolate over cereal mix and stir until all the cereal is evenly covered with white chocolate. Spread cereal mix on 2 large baking sheets (I used cookie sheets) lined with wax paper. Let cool and then break apart into chunks.
    3.
