Great Books for Kiddos with Anxiety Issues

Hi friends! Today I am going to share a few books for children that deal with anxiety. My son was diagnosed with the Autism Spectrum and he also is diagnosed with Schizophrenia disorder. He has anxiety for so many things but mostly with sensitivity towards certain sounds.  I saw these books on Amazon and I just have to share with others who may have loved ones who have anxiety issues too. Plus these would be an awesome Christmas present either for a kiddo with anxiety issues or a sibling that may not understand why their brother/sister acts the way they do sometimes.

When My Worries Get Too Big!
The first book is :
When My Worries Get Too Big!
When My Worries Get Too Big!    https://www.amazon.com/When-Worries-Relaxation-Children-Anxiety/dp/1931282927
The thought of losing control can cause major problems for children who live with anxiety. Now, parents, teachers and children have a helpful tool that gives young children an opportunity to explore their own feelings with parents or teachers as they react to events in their daily lives. Engaging and easy to read, this illustrated children s book is filled with opportunities for children to participate in developing their own self-calming strategies. Children who use the simple strategies in this charming book, illustrated by the author, will find themselves relaxed and ready to focus on work or play!

The next book I am going to share is :

What to Do When You Worry Too Much: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Anxiety (What to Do Guides for Kids) https://www.amazon.com/What-When-You-Worry-Much/dp/1591473144/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1512148060&sr=1-3&keywords=children+anxiety+books

"What to Do When You Worry Too Much" is an interactive self-help book designed to guide 6-12 year olds and their parents through the cognitive-behavioral techniques most often used in the treatment of generalized anxiety. Engaging, encouraging, and easy to follow, this book educates, motivates, and empowers children to work towards change. It includes a note to parents by psychologist and author Dawn Huebner, PhD.

The last book I am going to share is :

Please Explain Anxiety to Me! Simple Biology and Solutions for Children and Parents, 2nd Edition (Growing With Love)  https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4693033582405947171#editor/target=post;postID=5369274953824492629

What's happening to me?
This book translates anxiety from the jargon of psychology into concrete experiences that children can relate to. Children and their parents will understand the biological and emotional components of anxiety responsible for the upsetting symptoms they experience. Please Explain Anxiety to Me, 2nd Edition gives accurate physiological information in child friendly language. A colorful dinosaur story explains the link between brain and body functioning, followed by practical therapeutic techniques that children can use to help themselves. Children will:

  • learn that they can handle most issues if they are explained at their developmental level
  • understand the brain/body connection underlying anxiety
  • identify with the examples given
  • find comfort and reassurance in knowing that others have the same experience
  • be provided with strategies and ideas to help them change their anxiety responses
  • be able to enjoy childhood and to give up unnecessary worrying
  • If your child or loved one suffers from anxiety, I found these books to be exceptional in explaining what goes on when your child or loved one is having an anxiety issue. Blessings & HUGS!!!! And always if you want to email me about any questions/ concerns/ or just to say hello please feel free to do so at barbgadway@live.com 😃💜
